Thousands of businesses will have an electronic filing option for their Arizona income taxes starting next month, which will provide a more convenient way of filing their tax returns.
The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) has completed final system testing to begin accepting tax year 2019 corporate and partnership e-filed returns in early January. The department also has worked with more than a dozen software vendors to have their systems in place for companies.
Legislation signed into law in 2017 gives companies an e-file option in 2020 for tax year 2019 and becomes mandatory for corporations starting in 2021 for tax year 2020 returns.
Online filing is more efficient and more secure for taxpayers. In tax year 2018, 83 percent of individual income taxpayers and 77 percent of transaction privilege tax returns were e-filed.
