In accordance with House Bill 2280 (Arizona Revised Statutes Sec. 9 Section 42-3352), liquor distillers and manufacturers are no longer required to send in invoices with their liquor luxury tax returns to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR).
Under the new law, effective August 9, 2017, liquor distillers and manufacturers will only be required to maintain a copy of the sale invoice in their records. If ADOR needs this information at any time, it will reach out to the distiller or manufacturer for an invoice record.
This change means postage and copy cost savings for liquor distillers and manufacturers, and spares ADOR the cost of handling and storing scores of invoices.
Taxpayers with questions about the change should contact ADOR’s Customer Care Center at: (602) 255-3381 or toll-free: (800) 352-4090.
