The Department of Revenue is working as quickly as possible to process income tax refunds. However, please be advised:
If you filed electronically and chose direct deposit, you can expect your refund within 12 business days* of the return acceptance.
If you filed a paper return, you can expect your refund within 6-8 weeks* of the date you filed.
*Some tax returns need extra review for accuracy and to protect taxpayers from fraud and identity theft and therefore extra processing time may be necessary.
You may check the status of your refund on AZTaxes.gov, Where’s My Refund. If you have not received your refund after the referenced time, please contact Arizona Department of Revenue staff at 602-255-3381 or toll-free from area codes 928 and 520, 1-800-352-4090.
As a reminder, the filing deadline to submit 2016 tax returns is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
