As we near National Nonprofit Day on August 17, the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is encouraging all nonprofit organizations across the state to search for any unclaimed property that might belong to them.

Nonprofits play a crucial role in Arizona's social fabric, and many of these organizations may not be aware that they have unclaimed property they are entitled to. Such property  could include forgotten bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance proceeds, and more.

Every dollar returned to a nonprofit is a dollar that can support the essential work they perform in our communities. ADOR wants to help reunite nonprofits with the assets that are rightfully theirs.

Searching for unclaimed property takes only a few minutes and is free and easy to do. Nonprofits are encouraged to visit ADOR’s unclaimed property website at azdor.gov/unclaimed-property. Just search the nonprofit name and any states it operates in to discover whether unclaimed assets are waiting to be claimed. Claim forms and instructions on how to file a claim can be found at that website as well. Nonprofits can also search the national searchable database – missingmoney.com.
