ADOR is aware that some small business income taxpayers received a billing notice even though their overpayment from the individual income tax return is larger than the tax due from the small business income return. Please be advised that the Department is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Release of State Tax Lien

 

Payment in full with Cash or Certified Funds

Upon receipt of a cashier’s check or certified funds, the Arizona Department of Revenue will immediately provide a Notice of Intent to Release State Tax Lien(s). Please allow 2-3 weeks for the full release to post with the appropriate County Recorder’s Office and/or Secretary of State.

Online Payment

Once a payment has posted online a letter of Notice of Intent to Release State Tax Lien will be provided within 24 hours to the taxpayer. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the full release to post with the appropriate County Recorder’s Office and/or Secretary of State.

 

Personal Check

Once a personal check has been posted a Notice of Intent to Release Lien will be provided to the taxpayer within forty-five (45) days. Please allow 60 days after making a payment by personal check, for the full release to post with the appropriate County Recorder’s Office and/or Secretary of State.

 

Please call the County Recorder’s Office and/or Secretary of State for a copy of Full Release of the State Tax Lien document payment options or instructions on how to record your Certificate of Release document. Taxpayers are responsible for updating their personal records with all other agencies.

Remember to include a self-addressed stamped envelope so that the County Recorder’s Office can mail the recorded copy back to you.
