Due to heavy submissions volume and tax season opening two weeks later than usual, ADOR technical staff are actively working towards accepting and processing individual income tax returns as soon as possible. We will inform you when your return has been accepted for processing. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Customer Notice: Due to COVID-19, ADOR's in-person lobby services are by appointment only and in compliance with local municipal and county face covering policies.

E-File for Software Developers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) encourages Software Developers to provide software in support of formatting tax returns according to ADOR electronic return specifications. Software may be designed for use by Electronic Return Originators (EROs), reporting agents or transmitters.

Arizona MeF Letter of Intent

The Arizona Modernized e-File (MeF) system is web-based and allows electronic filing of individual income tax, fiduciary income tax, corporate income tax and partnership returns through the IRS MeF Program. The system uses the widely accepted Extensible Markup Language (XML) format. MeF also enables automatic, on-demand data transmissions and confirmations to the Electronic Return Originators (EROs), notifying them that returns have been received, accepted or rejected.
