One Week Left for the Tax Year 2023 Filing Extension Deadline
The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is providing this important reminder to individual income filers who received a state tax-filing extension--and have yet to file a return--to file by Tuesday, October 15.
Submit a completed return today.
Double-check the tax returns to ensure no information is missing and check box 82F if filing a paper individual income tax return. Include the whole social security number or employer identification number.
Choosing electronic is always the right choice.
E-filing reduces the time to process and the amount of paper needed to submit complex and lengthy returns. About 92% of individual income tax returns in Arizona were e-filed. Refunds from e-filed returns took an average of 7 business days to process. Make income tax payments on AZTaxes.gov. It does not require registration. For businesses, filing electronically is a requirement (A.R.S. § 43-323(F)).
Do not wait until October 15.
About 255,400 individuals and 193,100 corporations received an extension for 2023 tax year returns from the state. Taxpayer Assistance and Call Center are expected to be busy October 15 returning to work as offices are closed October 14.
Other income tax deadlines.
Arizona corporate calendar year timely filers have until November 15. Partnership and S corporation returns were due September 15; fiduciary returns were due September 30.
Individual filers needing additional assistance may qualify for free tax preparation services. Check out ADOR’s tutorial for payment assistance.
