TPT Filers-Please Submit Your Return - January 2020

Taxpayers can file now and schedule payments up until the deadline.

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) reminds transaction privilege tax filers that returns are due.

Avoid the worry and hassle of mailing your return by using AZTaxes.gov, which is available at night and weekends. Our online filing and paying service is free, fast and easy — allowing payments to be scheduled up until the second to last business day.

To be in compliance with state law, you must file a return by its due date, even if there is no tax due for the filing period.

Arizona Department of Revenue Enhances Customer Service with Kiosk Option

Arizona taxpayers have another option when filing and paying electronically on the state’s tax system.

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) has introduced self-service kiosks in both its Phoenix and Tucson locations. Kiosks are already available for use by taxpayers at the department’s East Valley office in Mesa.

Electronic Filing Now Available for Corporate Taxpayers in 2020

Corporations are now able to electronically file their income taxes to the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR). The corporate e-file solution starts with 2019 income tax returns and includes partnership tax returns.

"Arizona is open for business, and more companies are choosing Arizona every year,” said Governor Ducey. “We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in shaping a more efficient and accountable government. Expanding e-file is another way we’re making it easier to do business in our state.”

Revised threshold for TPT electronic filing and paying goes into effect Jan. 1, 2020

Under legislation that became law in 2017, businesses with an annual transaction privilege tax (TPT) and use tax liability of $5,000 or more during the prior calendar year will be required to file and pay electronically starting in February 2020 for the January reporting period.

The revised 2020 threshold of $5,000 is a change from the 2019 level of $10,000.

Businesses filing returns electronically are eligible to receive up to $2,000 back through the enhanced accounting credit for e-filing.

Arizona Electronic Filing Option for Corporate Taxpayers to Begin in January 2020

Thousands of businesses will have an electronic filing option for their Arizona income taxes starting next month, which will provide a more convenient way of filing their tax returns.

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) has completed final system testing to begin accepting tax year 2019 corporate and partnership e-filed returns in early January. The department also has worked with more than a dozen software vendors to have their systems in place for companies.

Items from Dormant Safe Deposit Boxes to be Auctioned Off by ADOR on Dec. 6

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) will hold a public auction of unclaimed property from abandoned safe deposit boxes on Friday, December 6.

The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sierra Auction, 3570 Grand Avenue in Phoenix, and will feature  thousands of items that have not been claimed for many years – including 10-ounce gold bars, collectible U.S. currency, diamond rings and necklaces, as well as precious stone jewelry sets and other unique items.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING -- PROPERTY TAX OVERSIGHT COMMISSION (December 2019)

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Property Tax Oversight Commission and to general public that the Property Tax Oversight Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

The meeting will be held in Conference Room 621 on the 6th Floor of the Department of Revenue Building, 1600 West Monroe, Phoenix, Arizona.

Arizona Tax Preparer Indicted for Allegedly Preparing Fraudulent Returns

PHOENIX -- Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Roberto De La O, a tax preparer, with fraudulent schemes and artifices, preparing false returns, taking the identity of another, and failure to file taxes. De La O is accused of preparing false Arizona personal income tax returns between 2014 and 2017.
