The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Education, Training and Certification Advisory Committee and to the general public that the Education, Training and Certification Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting will be held in Conference Room 304 on the 3rd Floor of the Arizona Department of Administration, 100 N. 15th Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona 85007.

ADOR reminds seniors needing additional property tax relief and Arizonans not required to file individual income taxes may be able to take advantage of state tax credits

Arizonans, whose income level is below minimum threshold limits and not required to file an individual income tax return or are seniors who own a residence, may still be eligible for state tax benefits by submitting two forms available through the Arizona Department of Revenue - Form 140ET Credit for Increased Excise Taxes or Form 140PTC Property Tax Refund Claim.

TPT Filers-Please Submit Your Return - Feb 2019

Taxpayers can file now and schedule payments up until the deadline.

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) reminds transaction privilege tax filers that returns are due.

Avoid the worry and hassle of mailing your return by using AZTaxes.gov, which is available at night and weekends. Our online filing and paying service is free, fast and easy — allowing payments to be scheduled up until the second to last business day.

To be in compliance with state law, you must file a return by its due date, even if there is no tax due for the filing period.

New process for claiming tax credits for public schools, qualified charitable organizations and qualified foster care organizations

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) reminds taxpayers the process to claim tax credits for public schools, Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCOs) and Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations (QFCOs) has changed.

 

Public Schools

An individual may claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in this state for support of extracurricular activities. The public school tax credit is claimed on Form 322.

Arizona Department of Revenue alerts taxpayers to be on lookout for shady tax preparers

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is reminding taxpayers to exercise due diligence in the selection of tax preparers.

The IRS indicates roughly 60 percent of tax filers use tax preparation services. While the majority of tax preparers are professional and qualified, there are cases where some have attempted to submit fraudulent returns or promised larger tax refunds by making unsubstantiated changes to the tax return.

Prime Contracting Study

Pursuant to House Bill 2416, the Arizona Department of Revenue has completed its study of the rate of noncompliance by persons subject to the prime contracting transaction privilege tax (TPT) classification. To view the study, please click HERE.

Businesses Advised to Renew 2019 State TPT Licenses

The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is again reminding businesses that have yet to renew their past due 2019 State Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) License to complete the licensing process.

Renewals were due Jan. 1, 2019 and prompt remittance can save both time and money.

Businesses that still owe a renewal fee are advised to pay fees to avoid penalties and to receive a 2019 Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) License.  Operating without proper licensing is a class 3 misdemeanor – depending on business activity.

Form 1099-G Available Online For Taxpayers

Taxpayers receiving Form 1099-G, which serves as a confirmation of the previous year’s state tax refund, can now go online to access and print the form.

Taxpayers can download and print their Form 1099-G by going to www.AZTaxes.gov, clicking on the “View My 1099-G” link and providing the necessary information.

Two Phoenix Tax Preparers Indicted For Allegedly Preparing False Tax Returns for Clients

PHOENIX -- Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Karen Hernandez and Pedro Arvizu, two tax preparers, for allegedly preparing false Arizona State resident personal income tax returns submitted to the Arizona Department of Revenue.
